Breaking Barriers, Building Futures
The eleventh iteration of the ClubGRANTS advertising campaign has kicked off this week which highlights the support that clubs in the Murray River are providing to Community Living & Respite Services (CLRS).
CLRS is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities. As a registered NDIS provider, CLRS offers a range of services designed to empower people to live the life they choose.
Their offerings include support coordination, in-home assistance, supported accommodation, social enterprises like Recyclability and the Murray River Tea Rooms, and the Opening Doors Project, which provides specialist housing for people with disabilities.
CLRS's mission is rooted in values of respect, collaboration, flexibility and accountability. They work closely with individuals, families, and carers to develop services that foster community involvement and independence.
Over the past year, Moama Bowling Club, Moama RSL and Rich River Golf Club have generously provided $40,000 in ClubGRANTS funding to CLRS. Their contribution is enabling CLRS to continue its mission of fostering inclusion, independence and opportunity for people with disabilities - creating stronger, more connected communities for everyone.
This campaign highlights the critical role of local Murray River clubs in supporting CLRS, particularly through their backing of the Murray River Tea Rooms - a social enterprise that provides real-world opportunities and training opportunities for people with disability.
“Moama RSL is passionate about initiatives like the Tea Rooms, which promote inclusivity and community connection,” says Moama RSL CEO Ashley Menzies.
CLRS CEO Leah Taffe adds: “We help those with disabilities live full and meaningful lives. That’s why we created the Murray River Tea Rooms, and we couldn’t do it without the support of local clubs.”
You can watch the 30-second ad here.
The campaign will also feature two 15-second ads and in-venue collateral. The ads will appear on Broadcast Video On Demand (BVOD) and pre-roll video, YouTube and social media.

“Working at the Murray River Tea Rooms makes me feel proud. I’m learning new skills and meeting great people,” says Murray River Tea Rooms volunteer Kelliane Ludbey.

ClubGRANTS is one of Australia’s largest and most established grant programs, and is a partnership between ClubsNSW and the NSW Government. It commenced in 1998 to formalise the longstanding practice of clubs responding and contributing to local community needs.
In 2024, over $120 million in grants for community services, projects and programs was provided through the ClubGRANTS program — that figure exceeded the mandatory contribution required under the ClubGRANTS Guidelines by $47 million.
