Clubs and PCYC Building Stronger Futures in the New England Tablelands
The tenth iteration of the ClubGRANTS advertising campaign has kicked off this week which highlight the support that clubs in the New England local government area are providing to the PCYC NSW Fit for Life program.
PCYC NSW’s Fit for Life program is a transformative early-morning initiative designed to engage young people who may be at risk of making poor life choices or becoming involved in antisocial behaviour. By integrating physical activity, nutrition education, social connection, and emotional support, this impactful program helps participants build resilience, improve their overall wellbeing, and adopt healthier lifestyle habits.
Over the past year, the Armidale Ex-Services Club and West Tamworth League Club have generously provided $20,000 in ClubGRANTS funding to support Fit for Life. Their contribution is enabling PCYC to continue delivering this life-changing program across the New England Tablelands, empowering local youth to stay on the right path and make positive, lasting changes.
This campaign highlights the vital role local clubs play in supporting PCYC and the broader community. Through their ongoing commitment, clubs are helping to divert at-risk youth from negative influences - promoting physical, emotional, and social wellbeing, while fostering a safer, healthier, and more resilient future for the region.
“We’re proud to back the PCYC - together, we’re empowering young people to stay focused and make good choices,” says Armidale Ex-Services Club CEO Scott Sullivan
“Thanks to $20,000 worth of ClubGRANTS provided by local clubs, we’re able to offer vital resources and programs to help young people thrive,” says PCYC Sector Manager Jessica Blair.

“PCYC has given me the tools to stay positive, stay healthy, and build a future I can be proud of!” says PCYC NSW Fit for Life program participant Jezyha Johns.
As the NSW Government reviews the ClubGRANTS scheme, it presents an opportunity to highlight the incredible support that NSW clubs provide to the community, creating lasting positive impacts.
This ClubGRANTS campaign series will continue to focus on how clubs, through the ClubGRANTS scheme, provide immeasurable support to numerous initiatives that improve the lives of those in their communities, including:
- Fairfield Clubs United Against Domestic Violence
- Clubs in the Central West Committed to Supporting Young People

More key areas will be highlighted in regions across the state.
ClubGRANTS is one of Australia’s largest and most established grant programs and is a partnership between ClubsNSW and the NSW Government. It commenced in 1998 to formalise the longstanding practice of clubs responding and contributing to local community needs.
In 2024, over $120 million in grants for community services, projects and programs was provided through the ClubGRANTS program — that figure exceeded the mandatory contribution required under the ClubGRANTS Guidelines by $47 million.
