Clubs in the Ryde Area Striving to Ensure Kids Don’t Go Hungry
The next iteration of the ClubGRANTS advertising campaign is now live, focussing on the enormous support clubs in the Ryde Local Government Area (LGA) are giving to worthy causes, with the focus squarely on food security, to ensure local families don’t go hungry.
The rising cost-of-living is a big issue at the moment and is impacting families across NSW. Putting food on the table is something most of us take for granted, but for some it’s becoming harder with rising living costs.
Ryde clubs have come together to support local charities through the ClubGRANTS program, donating to a number or organisations in the area which focus on this pressing need.
North Ryde RSL, Ryde Eastwood Leagues and Gladesville RSL have collectively donated $25,000 to organisations including Sydney Community Services.
“We support the growing number of people, including families, who are struggling to make ends meet and have to go without meals,” said Sydney Community Services CEO Branka Ivonkovic.
“The support of Ryde clubs has been so important for us to continue to support these families.”
Ryde Eastwood Clubs CEO Carl Pozzato said he and the other clubs identified food security as a big issue that needed addressing.
“This year, Ryde clubs have given almost $1.5 million in ClubGRANTS funding to worthy causes, with a big focus on food security,” he said.
“The cost-of-living crisis is impacting families everywhere, so we are thrilled to support Sydney Community Services however we can.”
Under the Your local club banner, ClubsNSW has produced one 30-second and three 15-second ads promoting the relationship between these Ryde clubs and the local charities they support. The videos will appear on Broadcast Video On Demand (BVOD), pre-roll video, YouTube and social media.
Launching today, the campaign is scheduled to run over a period of eight weeks in and around the Ryde area, and will include some local newspaper advertising to support these videos.
This campaign is just one of the many stories of NSW clubs supporting charities and community organisations through the ClubGRANTS program. More advertising campaigns will be live over the coming months.
ClubGRANTS is one of Australia’s largest and most established grant programs and is a partnership between ClubsNSW and the NSW Government. It commenced in 1998 to formalise the longstanding practice of clubs responding and contributing to local community needs.
In the past 12 months, a record $121 million in financial support for community services, projects and programs was provided through the ClubGRANTS program — that figure exceeded the mandatory contribution required under the ClubGRANTS Guidelines by over $50 million.
