ClubGRANTS Rounds are Now Open Across NSW
ClubGRANTS rounds are currently open across the state, so it is time encourage your local community organisations to apply.
Community organisations are being encouraged to apply for Category 1 and 2 ClubGRANTS before the round closes on 31 May.
Eligible Category 1 expenditure is allocated by clubs to projects and/or services that contribute to the welfare and broader social fabric of the local community. Category 2 expenditure is allocated by clubs to community development and support activities and projects not listed under Category 1, for example sport, returned servicemen's league or veteran welfare, golf courses and bowling green maintenance.
ClubGRANTS is one of Australia’s largest and most established grant programs and is a partnership between ClubsNSW and the NSW Government. It commenced in 1998 to formalise the longstanding practice of clubs responding and contributing to local community needs.
“Our work is done with love and would not be possible without two very important factors — our selfless volunteers and the incredibly generous grants we have received through ClubGRANTS.” — Joyce Naddaf, Maronites on Mission
Last year alone, more than 9050 charities, health organisations and community groups received an average grant of $9,219 under the NSW ClubGRANTS scheme. In total, $121 million in financial support for community services, projects and programs was provided under the ClubGRANTS scheme. That figure exceeded the mandatory contribution required under the guidelines by over $50 million.
The positive impact of ClubGRANTS funding is evident in its substantial contribution to a range of projects. These include the restoration of facilities affected by natural disasters, the provision of shelter for women facing domestic violence, the implementation of mental health education programs, and backing for children dealing with learning difficulties.
How can organisations apply?
As per 4.2 of the ClubGRANTS Guidelines, ClubGRANTS qualifying clubs and local committees must use ClubGRANTS Online (CGO), provided by ClubsNSW, to accept applications, record funding decisions and manage acquittals. Funding decisions recorded in CGO will be considered formal reports to the Authority in relation to Category 1 and 2 expenditures.
