Clubs Counter Cost of Living with Winter Specials

St George Venues are leading the charge with a $10 chicken schnitzel special running all through July. 

As a member, you will pay only $15 in August for their lamb shank special at Jubilee Brasserie which features fall-off-the-bone lamb served with mash and peas ($17 visitors) daily for lunch and dinner from August 1-31.

As St George Venues CEO Craig Epton explains: “With the fuel crisis putting real pressure on household budgets these last several months, we wanted to make sure our members and local community still had a place for affordable meals, without the stress of rising costs elsewhere. 

“Our food specials over the last few months have been about backing the people who back us, day in and day out. That's what St George Leagues Club and St George Venues is here for."

At Harbord Diggers, the DD Collective Mates Rates are keeping tummies full and wallets happy with a range of cold weather specials. 

Monday to Thursday features $16 lunch and dinner deals including Hawaiian schnitzel with chips and salad, grilled salmon with chips and salad, roast and vegetables or a small fish and chips with salad. 

Monday nights get a bonus, with a $15 chicken parmi or chicken schnitzel from 5-9pm. Early birds are covered with a $15 bacon and egg roll and small coffee available on Tuesday to Sunday mornings. 

Sundays are catered for too with a $20 meat lovers pizza or $20 beef nachos to round out the week.

Ballina RSL's Boardwalk is bringing a touch of waterfront elegance — without the expected price tag. 

Along with their à la carte menu of seafood, steaks, pasta and gourmet salads, the specials board includes $22 member meals, a $16 seniors lunch special, $6 kids meals and a $50 dinner for a family of four (Monday to Friday for members). 

There is also $10 off dessert with any main. 

Club Macquarie's Bistro 458 has $15 lunch specials Monday to Friday, plus $20 dinner specials every night (all served as-is, no alterations, $23 for non-members). Tuesday is pasta night and then rump steak Wednesdays, schnitzel Thursdays and there is a seafood medley to finish the week on Fridays. Kids meals are just $6.

At Club Charlestown, Bistro on the Green is looking after families and schnitzel lovers alike. Kids eat free on Monday (lunch and dinner) for members and Tuesdays feature a $16 chicken schnitzel deal for lunch and dinner (members only).

Elsewhere, Campbelltown Catholic Club's Harvest Bistro is offering specials including a $13 small roast pork meal on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Wednesday dinner is the popular $15 surf & turf (200g minute steak, sautéed prawns, garlic sauce, mash and beans), Thursday dinner is a $16 chicken schnitzel and Sunday lunch means kids eat free. 

The club is offering one free kids meal for every $20 spent, with a $1 add-on for an activity pack and ice cream.
