Catalina Club Unveils First Stage of Major Refurbishment
Catalina Club has officially unveiled the first stage of a major transformation, completing a full internal refurbishment of its clubhouse as the organisation prepares for a new era of growth.
The upgrade marks a significant milestone for the South Coast venue, delivering refreshed spaces for members and visitors while setting the foundation for future golf-focused expansion. The newly completed internal refurbishment represents the first tangible step in Catalina Club’s long-term masterplan, with upgraded interiors designed to modernise the patron experience and improve functionality across key areas. General Manager Guy Chapman says the Club has focused on ensuring members see immediate benefits while longer-term projects continue to progress behind the scenes. “We’ve just done a total refurb of the whole Club internally,” says Guy. “Now we’ve got a bit planned for outdoors and the exterior of the Club just to freshen things up and get into some exciting projects.” The internal works come at a crucial time for the Club, with the Batemans Bay region continuing to experience strong tourism growth. Guy says they are preparing for a busy summer period. Setting the stage for future growth While the internal refurbishment marks the completion of the first stage, Catalina Club is already progressing planning for its next phase of development, which will centre on expanding and enhancing its golf facilities. Guy confirms development applications have been lodged for a new driving range and golf wing, with planning and approvals now underway. “The plans have been lodged,” he says. “We’ll work through whatever conditions council may have, then go out to market tender, appoint a project manager and make it all happen.” Construction on the next stage is currently pencilled in to commence from October, subject to approvals and final project timelines. “It’s still a little while away,” he says. “But all the planning is in motion and we’ve got a bit of time to make sure we get it right.” A broader vision for Catalina The future expansion will build on the momentum created by the internal refurbishment, with plans to deliver upgraded golf infrastructure, improved member amenities and new destination spaces designed to appeal to both golfers and the wider community. To help showcase the vision, 3D walkthrough footage has been produced, giving members and the community a clear look at how Catalina Club’s next chapter is expected to take shape. |
