The Doylo Reveals Immersive Simulator Experience and Sports Bar

Doyalson Wyee RSL Club has recently made a start on plans to redevelop an existing space in the Club to deliver a sports tavern, complete with an immersive simulator experience unlike anything else on the Central Coast. 

The space, which the Club always struggled to activate, will soon become Ready’s Bar, Sports, Social — a more broadly functional fully indoor space that Chief Marketing Officer Scott Purcell says will be targeted at the younger demographic that the Club has recently seen.  

“It's about moving with the times and repositioning ourselves. It's quite a large space and in the northern part of the Central Coast there is a distinct lack of entertainment options,” Scott said. 

“We wanted to create something that was really engaging for a market that's typically not a club goer’s market. 

“Also, to create something you would usually have to travel to Sydney or Newcastle to do.” 

Readys’s will comprise a relaxed tavern-like bar area at one end and a space with huge sports simulators by Sports Plus at the other. Sport simulators will include cricket, baseball, tennis, lacrosse, darts and car racing.  

“We're just trying to make it a really sort of funky space and more appeals to that 20 to 40 year-old market,” Scott said. 

“Our vision was to try and create a social hotspot on the Central Coast.”

Ready’s will contain a beverage offering that includes something for everyone, as well as cool spaces for everyone to enjoy. There will be cocktails, paired with a casual dining experience, a multitude of beers and a typical sports viewing vibe to enjoy.  

The menu will include burgers, share platters, cob loaves and much more — with the space initially running from Thursday to Sunday.

“If a few of the girls were going out for a few cocktails, they could sit there and sip on cocktails and enjoy a few share platters and at the same time have a whack at golf or try their hand at darts,” Scott said. 

The space closed for renovation in late June with testing on the simulators hoping to begin at the end of August, with a launch date poised for mid-September.
