Settled In & Ready to Lead
Today marks one week in my new role as Chair of ClubsNSW, and as I said to ClubLIFE.com.au last Friday, I am so honoured and humbled to be elected as the first female Chair in the Association’s 104-year history.
I am really looking forward to continuing to work alongside my fellow board members and our CEO Rebecca Riant to make a positive impact in communities across NSW. I have great pride in our industry and in our members who make a significant contribution to daily life and the wellbeing of their members.
Again, on behalf of the Board and our industry, I extend our sincere thanks to Dr George Peponis OAM for his leadership and outstanding contribution to our industry throughout his time as Chair, and I extend my congratulations to Ron Coskerie on his election as Deputy Chair.

This week has been a matter of getting settled in — but rest assured I’ll be hitting the road next week to attend a number of ClubsNSW Regional Meetings — so keep an eye out for me in your club soon!
For now, a few brief and timely reminders.
- Time is running out for clubs to apply for round one funding under the ClubGRANTS Category 3 Community Infrastructure Grants Program. Clubs may be eligible to fund the costs of construction, alterations, renovations, completion and fit-out of buildings and community infrastructure that they are responsible for operating and/or maintaining in order to deliver outcomes for disadvantaged communities in NSW. You can read more about the funding categories and eligibility criteria here.
- The Clubs Australia WR&HR Conference is just one month away and registrations are still open for a few more days. The speaker line-up looks fantastic — think one of Australia’s most successful athletes, as well as a globally recognised thought leader in psychology. You can check out the full Conference program and register for the event here.
- For clubs that offer gaming, Liquor & Gaming NSW has released further information on the changes to cash dispensing facility signage and location in venues. There is a grace period until 1 August 2024 for compliance with these new signage requirements, but you must already be taking action to comply. You can find all the details here.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
