Port City Bowling Club Commences $9 million Renovation
Last week, Port City Bowling Club announced the commencement of its exciting renovations, with local building company Joyce Constructions appointed to undertake the works.
The $9 million project is aimed at revitalising the Club's facilities and enhancing the experience for all members and visitors.
Inspired by feedback from valued members and a commitment to staying ahead of industry trends, the Club is embarking on a comprehensive renovation journey designed to modernise their facilities while preserving the cherished community spirit that defines them.
The renovation plans include the introduction of a new 180-seat restaurant featuring breathtaking views over Oxley Beach, a roof-top terrace overlooking the greens and Oxley Oval, and a 130-seat function room on the first level for corporate events, weddings and celebrations.
The Club will also see significant upgrades to the bowls lounge, entertainment lounge, gaming room, and the Non-Thinkers Sports Bar which is set to feature more seating and a large screen for sports fanatics.
A highlight of these renovations is the addition of Drift's new alfresco dining space, creating a seamless connection to the bowling green and an inviting area for outdoor relaxation and enjoyment.
These changes are designed to enhance the dining experience for our customers, offering a range of dining options from casual to more formal settings without compromising on quality, service or atmosphere. The introduction of a bar and grill restaurant promises new flavours and cooking techniques, aimed at elevating the overall customer experience.
The Club has taken extensive measures to minimise disruptions during the renovation period, ensuring that areas such as Drift, gaming, bowls lounge and the main lounge remain accessible to members and guests. The Non-Thinkers Sports Lounge will be temporarily relocated to the entertainment lounge, with all weekly activities running as scheduled including bingo, raffles, trivia, poker, live entertainment, barefoot bowls and weekly social bowls.
The grand unveiling of the new restaurant and Drift Alfresco spaces is eagerly anticipated for late February to early March of 2025 — perfectly timed for guests arriving for the April school holidays. The lower-level areas of the Club will re-introduced as soon as possible.
