New Format and Frequency of Gaming Machine Reporting
Liquor & Gaming NSW (L&GNSW) is moving to quarterly reporting of club and hotel gaming machine data to increase transparency. The new reporting format will be published towards the end of July 2024 for a six-month period. In the future, reports will be published quarterly towards the end of each July, November, January/February and April.
L&GNSW currently publishes six-monthly club and hotel gaming machine data. A premises list containing gaming machine data of all licensed venues is also published monthly. Gaming Machine Entitlement (GME) leasing data will be added to this report from July 2024. All previous six-monthly reports are available here and premises lists here.
The key changes include:
- Inclusion of the number of EGMs per 100,000 population and corresponding net profit in the quarterly gaming machine by LGA reports.
- Adding GMEs leased in and out of venues to the monthly premises list.
- Quarterly reporting in July, November, January/February and April, published towards the end of each month.
- Discontinuing the existing SharePoint subscriber site shared with stakeholders and journalists.
Importantly, this reporting will not include venue specific data.
Quarterly reporting is compiled for club and hotel gaming venues and is reported by sector as follows:
- Gaming Machine Quarterly Report by LGA
- State Rankings by Gaming Machine Net Profit
- State Rankings by Net Profit per Gaming Machine
A table that outlines the changes in the new format reports is available here.
