The Club Gaming Code of Practice (“the Code”) raises the minimum standards of clubs to demonstrate the industry’s dedication to delivering the safest and most compliant venues in NSW.

The feedback regarding the Code has been overwhelmingly positive in relation to what it is attempting to achieve, but the same question is often asked by clubs: “There is a lot of training, how will ClubsNSW assist us to comply?”

ClubSAFE has been overhauled to make Code compliance as straightforward as possible. Importantly, the biggest change is the major reduction in package costs for smaller members.

Members looking for the simplest way to comply can opt into the ClubSAFE+ or Premium programs and receive training benefits and a number of products and services included.

ClubSAFE+ packages all training together in an online delivery format for clubs to meet their training obligations. ClubSAFE+ members can also pay far below market price to have our team of responsible gambling experts deliver the Government’s new Advanced Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) course. Under recent legislation, Advanced RCG is now recognised under law. Further, members can now access a personalised customer due diligence portal and vet and background check members who may pose a higher risk of money laundering.

Under ClubSAFE Premium, all training is delivered in person. This includes multiple days of Advanced RCG training in your club. Members receive a range of compliance products and services, including quarterly licensing audits and annual responsible gambling audits; an extended number of checks on the due diligence portal; AML/CTF program management including the development and independent review of their program and digital incident registers; and importantly, a new Gaming Code of Practice compliance audit.

Members looking to remain on the ClubSAFE Standard program can pick and choose which training courses they wish to complete via the ClubsNSW online training portal.

None of these changes prevent clubs from selecting their preferred provider to complete the various Code requirements. So, for members wanting to receive the required training under the Code from other providers, ClubSAFE will support the providers on their request.
