Member clubs are advised that the business name Institute of Club Directors (ICD) was registered in November 2025 and is being used in connection with services offered to clubs and club directors.
For clarity, ICD operates independently of, and is not affiliated or associated with, ClubsNSW, the Club Directors Institute (CDI) or Club Education Institute (CEI). No affiliation, association or endorsement exists between ICD and ClubsNSW, CDI or CEI.
This notice is provided solely to ensure that members clearly understand the relationship between these organisations.
Following correspondence from ClubsNSW, ICD advised that any similarity to the CDI or CEI brands was unintended, apologised for any confusion caused and agreed to adopt a different business name. ClubsNSW thanks ICD for its constructive engagement and cooperation.
In accordance with Liquor & Gaming NSW's directive that ClubsNSW provide ongoing professional development opportunities for club directors and executives, CEI continues to deliver a range of training programs, seminars and educational resources designed to strengthen governance, leadership and financial oversight capabilities across the club industry.
These opportunities include:
- Board Chair Masterclass
- Financial Governance
- Mandatory Director Training (MDT)
- Industry seminars and professional development courses
- Programs delivered in partnership with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) including
Company Directors Course™ and Governance Foundations for Not-For-Profit Directors™.
Directors and executives are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities to strengthen their governance knowledge and support effective oversight of their clubs.
