Wyong Leagues Group Adds Netball to Its Sporting Family
Wyong Leagues Group has added another branch to its Central Coast sporting family by becoming a major sponsor of the region’s Premier League netball team: Central Coast Heart.
Central Coast Heart is one of 10 franchises represented in the Netball NSW Premier League, which is the highest level of netball competition in the state. Since the inception of the league in 2016, Heart has proudly flown the Central Coast flag, winning the tournament in 2018 and being grand finalists in 2019 and 2022.
The Heart is a collaboration between the three Central Coast netball associations — Gosford, Woy Woy Peninsula and Wyong District — and provides a much-needed local pathway into the Australian National Championships and Suncorp Super Netball.
When Heart approached the Wyong Leagues Group with the opportunity to become their major sponsor, this was an opportunity that the Group gladly took up.
Group Sponsorship Manager, Brock Molan said this partnership gives people a pathway to pursue excellence in their chosen sport, adding they will make the Central Coast proud.
“We have had a long association with many netball teams on the Coast and to be able to get behind a great group like the Heart was a natural expansion of our existing relationships within the sport,” Brock said.
“We understand the significance of providing pathway opportunities to those looking to pursue excellence in their chosen sport and allowing them to represent our region on a bigger stage.”
Central Coast Heart Chair, Bronwyn Rumbel said the partnership was huge for the sport in the region.
“We are thrilled to welcome Wyong Leagues Group into the Heart family. This partnership is a huge positive for the region’s netball community,” Bronwyn said.
“Building on the success of Central Coast Heart and supporting pathways from grass roots to elite netball for local players, coaches, and officials.”
The Netball NSW Premier League season kicked off on 20 March at Netball Central (Sydney Olympic Park) and the 2024 season features two Central Coast Heart home games to be played at Niagara Park Stadium during June.
