Cardiff Mates Celebrate Super Bowl in Style with $1 Million Keno Prize
A group of four Cardiff mates’ Super Bowl Monday celebrations took a wild turn after their shared Keno entry netted them an incredible $1 million prize.
The Lake Macquarie locals scored the Keno Classic 10 Spot jackpot winning entry in draw 112, drawn on Monday, 12 February 2024 and shared a total prize of $1,009,650.10.
When an official from Keno called one member of the winning group, the ecstatic man shared that everyone was “happy as Larry”.
“Oh mate, this is unbelievable!” he said.
“We were down here watching the Super Bowl and decided to go in on a Keno entry together. We didn’t think we’d win though!
“I was in the car the next morning when I heard there was a mystery winner and I thought I better check the ticket. I called all the boys and they were over the moon.
“We’ll all set our families up, book holidays, put some towards the mortgage — the usual things. What a day!”
The winning Keno Classic 10 Spot entry was purchased at Wests Cardiff, 18 Munibung Road, Cardiff.
Wests Cardiff Manager Kelly Burtenshaw said the whole team was over the moon for the winning group.
“This is fantastic! To have had a big Keno win like this in the venue is amazing,” she said.
“A prize like this can change lives so to be part of that is such an amazing feeling. We just want to wish our winners all the best for the future.”
In 2023, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 67.31
