The Office of Responsible Gambling Wants Your Help
The Office of Responsible Gambling (ORG) is developing an industry resource to provide guidance to help licensed venues when they are developing gambling harm-minimisation strategies and initiatives.
The ORG is looking for specific real-world examples of good practices in harm minimisation from clubs (and hotels) to include in this resource that other gaming operators could consider at their venues.
The level of detail that the ORG is looking for includes:
- Name of the organisation;
- Details of the strategy or approach;
- If available, a case study detailing how the initiative/example was either a specific aspect of a strategy or broad organisation-wide strategy.
For example, it could be something like:
“Organisation X discussed the need to strive for innovation in approaching responsible gambling. It was suggested that regular trials of new processes and technologies to support their responsibility framework was important, as is seeking continuous improvement. Organisation X provided some examples of how this occurs, including [examples to be included here].”
Does your club have a great gambling-harm initiative or measure that you would like to include in the industry resource? If so, details can either be provided directly to the ORG or to Alison Tehan, ClubsNSW Executive Manager – Regulatory Affairs, at [email protected].
