Do You Have an Implementation Plan for the Gaming Code of Practice?

The Club Gaming Code of Practice (the Code) sets out practical and effective measures for responsible gambling and anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CTF) at your club. Under the Code, an Implementation Plan must be developed setting out how the Code will be implemented in your club.
The Implementation Plan should set out the operational processes your club will put in place to meet the requirements of the Code including:
- Having your board approve a Responsible Gambling Policy;
- Nominating a Responsible Gambling Officer (RGO) and advising ClubsNSW;
- Minimum training requirements for the board, directors, RGO and your staff on responsible gambling and AML/CTF to ensure they know and understand their obligations;
- Your practices regarding advertising, promotion and loyalty programs, access to cash, providing customers with information about gambling and the physical environment (to prevent minors, excluded persons gambling);
- Having self and third-party exclusion programs and counselling support for customers;
- Having a gambling incident register;
- Completing an annual assessment of your club’s compliance with the Code and completing an independent audit every three to five years (depending on the size of the club).
A template Implementation Plan can be found here.
If you would like further information or have questions about the Code, please contact ClubASSIST on 1300 730 001 and ask to speak to the Policy & Government team, or email [email protected].
