Port City Bowling Club Helps Provide Inclusive Sailing Opportunities
Sailability has announced the launch of their newest recovery boat, thanks to the generous $23,130 worth of ClubGRANTS funding from Port City Bowling Club.
The new boat will allow Sailability Port Macquarie to continue providing inclusive sailing opportunities to people with disabilities in Port Macquarie. The new boat is specially designed for recovery operations, ensuring the safety of their sailors.
With this new addition, the Club will be able to accommodate more sailors and provide a safer sailing experience for everyone.
Each Wednesday during the summer season, Sailability Port Macquarie provides their services at no charge to over 100 people of varying abilities, drawn from various disability support units, local public and private schools, community disability service providers, aged care providers, and various private individuals.
Sailability’s President Julie Constable said Port City Bowling Club's donation had been instrumental in making this new boat a reality.
“Their commitment to supporting local organisations and initiatives such as Sailabilty has made a significant impact on our ability to provide sailing opportunities to people with disabilities,” Julie said.
“We are grateful for their generosity and support.”
Port City Bowling Club CEO David Gearing said Port City Bowling Club was proud to be a part of Sailability, promoting inclusivity and accessibility for all sailors.
“We look forward to continuing our long-standing relationship with Sailability into 2024 and many years to come.”
