Chatswood RSL Researches, Renovates and Revamps
Just in time for the festive season, Chatswood RSL has put pen to paper, brought in steel caps and hard hats and as a result has delivered a vision for the beloved community hub.
The Club undertook an extensive market research project together with Tully Heard Consulting to look at ways they could tap into new markets.
Chatswood RSL CEO Andrew Hoschke said the results identified two key target market segments.
“Our two main areas of focus were to retain and grow our traditional maturing market and to capture and grow our under 40s market,” Andrew said.
“The refurbishment and repositioning of the space included introducing a series of demarcated and intimate areas to create different experiences within the bistro area combined with a series of types of table and chairs, banquette and booth seating options.
“This brought a complete refurbishment in look and feel to the area including reflecting the warm tones and looks that people generally resonate with.
“We also unveiled a new statement pizza oven with an open pizza kitchen area allowing customers to view our pizza chefs in action.”
Andrew said over all the general food concept was highly accessible, elevated club classics albeit with the addition of some new dishes.
“We are thrilled that 446 Pizza Bar and Kitchen will serve as a welcoming, fresh and family friendly environment to be enjoyed by all club goers.”
John Tully, Director of Tully Heard Consulting, said the Chatswood precinct is a highly competitive on-premise environment, so it was essential for the Club to understand the positioning for each of its future offerings.
“We conducted extensive research to find opportunities in the market, and overlayed that with a conceptual direction that would resonate with those markets,” John said.
“The data we uncovered was very compelling and exciting. This allowed us to create an original strategy piece to tap into the traditional market, with a second stage to commence next year, which we won’t give too much away about!
“Overall, the Club really leaned in and offered a lot of help to ensure the best result was found from members and guests.”
