How Your Club Can Participate in the NSW 2024 Seniors Festival
The NSW 2024 Seniors Festival is rapidly approaching.
Scheduled from 11 to 24 March 2024, this presents an ideal opportunity for clubs to recognise the positive influence of seniors in the local community, be they mothers, fathers, grandparents, role models, volunteers or active community members.
The theme of the festival “Reach Beyond” symbolises the significant role that older Australians continue to play in our community, through contributions in both their personal and professional lives.
Many can attest that clubs recognise the contributions of seniors daily, showing appreciation through discounted meals or more affordable activities. This is yet another chance for clubs to acknowledge the impact that seniors have made.
How can your club participate in the festivities?
Clubs have the opportunity to host a live stream of the Premier’s Gala Concert at their venue, which is set to take place at 2:45pm on Wednesday, 13 March 2024. The concert is expected to occur for 1.5 hours with a 15-minute interval.
While the concert lineup is yet to be released, it promises to be exciting. The show has been a sell out in recent years, featuring exceptional Australian talent, such as Prinnie Stevens and Harrison Craig.
Prior to the show, clubs may consider providing seniors with a discounted meal.
Venues can distribute invitations or promote the event online and at their premises, encouraging those who attend to wear purple to mark the occasion.
How can I stream the event?
ClubsNSW will provide a link from the Government via circular closer to the date.
What happens if our club is unable to provide a live stream?
For clubs unable to livestream on the day, they might like to explore hosting an event at the same time, or on an alternate occasion during the NSW 2024 Seniors Festival. This could involve organising a high tea, arranging special entertainment, providing discounted meal options, or hosting a lunch to acknowledge the valuable contributions of seniors.
Venues can get creative in their offerings tailored to older community members.
