Dooleys, Revesby Workers and Bankstown Sports Unite to Support National Domestic & Family Violence TV Series
Dooleys, Revesby Workers and Bankstown Sports Clubs have come together to support the production of a national five-part TV and Education series aimed at raising awareness of domestic and family violence.
Each Club has sponsored a charity they support to be profiled in the series, helping deliver more than $550,000 in collective national exposure for organisations working at the frontline of domestic and family violence prevention.
Production began in September, with the first episode scheduled to air on Saturday 22 November as part of the global 16 Days of Activism campaign. Two additional episodes will air in March 2026 alongside the release of the Study Guide.
Club-Supported Charities
- Dooleys is sponsoring Escabags and the Women’s Housing Company.
- Revesby Workers Club is profiling its Domestic Violence Action Plan, including the Purple Shirt Friday initiative, and is sponsoring local women’s shelter Biyani House.
- Bankstown Sports Club is sponsoring ReLove, supporting survivors of domestic and family violence to rebuild their lives.
Helping Hands Producers Praise Clubs’ Leadership
Executive Producer Richard Attieh says Club support is the reason the series could be produced.
“This series would not have been possible without the support of Arely and Ofa, and ClubsNSW,” says Richard.
“We exist to tell stories of social good, and to highlight the people and organisations who make the world a better place.”
Since launching in 2023, the Helping Hands program has profiled more than 95 businesses, charities and community groups, generating over $3.7 million in national media exposure.
Business Development Executive Davyn de Bruyn says the partnership with Clubs highlights their essential role in supporting grassroots organisations.
“Clubs in NSW know their local communities the best,” says Davyn.
“Helping Hands exists to amplify their stories and community impact across Australia.”
Club Leaders Reflect on Their Involvement
DOOLEYS Community Engagement Manager Jason White says the opportunity has been invaluable.
“We are so proud to play a small part in highlighting the amazing work both Escabags and Women’s Housing Company do daily,” says Jason.
“We hope their stories encourage those needing help to seek it, knowing their community is there to support them.”
Revesby Workers Chief People Officer Sharyn Buhagiar says the Club’s commitment is driven by care for both staff and the wider community.
“As a Club, we say No to Domestic Violence and Yes to Respectful Relationships,” says Sharyn.
“Real change happens when awareness is matched with action, and we are proud to see our Domestic Violence Action Plan and Purple Shirt Fridays showcased.”
Bankstown Sports Sporting & Community Partnership Manager, Michael Hanratty, says supporting ReLove through this initiative helps spotlight essential work.
“The Helping Hands TV broadcast recognises and promotes organisations making a positive difference every day,” he says.
“We are proud to support ReLove and promote their incredible work with survivors of domestic violence.”
