Griffith Leagues Club Unveils Stunning Alpen Terrace Redevelopment and GT’s Bar
Griffith Leagues Club members have a brand-new reason to step outside this spring, with the completion of a major upgrade to the Alpen Terrace — transforming it into a vibrant, all-weather social and entertainment space.
The redevelopment features a new outdoor bar, a function pavilion for up to 120 guests and two enormous sports screens, making it the perfect venue for live sport, parties and community gatherings. Members can also enjoy improved accessibility, thanks to a new rear entrance from the Bridge Road carpark.
Marketing Manager Brittany Beltrame says the project was about reimagining the Alpen Terrace as a true destination for members.
“We wanted to create a space that felt fresh, inviting and flexible — somewhere our members can relax, catch up with friends, or celebrate a special occasion. The response since our soft launch at Easter has been incredible,” Brittany says.
A highlight of the redevelopment is the newly named GT’s Bar, honouring the late Graeme Trevett, who served as President of Griffith Leagues Club for 25 years and dedicated 30 years to the board.
“Graeme was more than a President — he was the heart and soul of the Club,” Brittany says.
“Dedicating the bar to him is our way of ensuring his vision and passion live on in a space that brings people together, just as he always did.”
Trevett, who passed away in 2023 after a battle with cancer, was also closely affiliated with the Black & Whites Rugby League Club, making his name synonymous with Griffith’s sporting community.
While the Terrace has been welcoming members since its soft opening earlier this year, the Club is preparing for an official launch event in October, which will double as a life members’ celebration and the formal opening of GT’s Bar.
“The official opening will be our chance to thank members for their patience during the construction and properly celebrate this new chapter for the Club,” Brittany says.
With its revitalised Terrace, Griffith Leagues Club has created a modern, welcoming space that honours its past while looking firmly to the future — a fitting tribute to both its members and the leaders who have shaped its legacy.
