A Seamless Transformation in the Heart of Sydney

The project commenced with the successful launch of Primi Restaurant and Bar, a vibrant addition that boosted trade and set the tone for the Club’s evolving identity. This was followed by a full refurbishment of the ground and first floors, reimagining the member and guest experience through quality design, functionality and style.

The ground floor now welcomes patrons with a striking new entry foyer and reception area, a relocated and elevated main bar framed by custom brass goal post louvres, a relaxed lounge, and upgraded indoor and outdoor gaming areas. 

Above, level one boasts a stylish lounge centred around a contemporary fireplace and a transformed balcony that offers elegant terrace dining with views over York Street.

Delivered in a carefully staged approach, the project was completed while the Club remained open and operational, a testament to Paynter Dixon’s deep expertise in working within live environments.

Site access and logistics posed significant challenges, with limited space for equipment and materials handling. Through close collaboration with subcontractors, Paynter Dixon implemented a proactive traffic management plan, relying on spotters and manual deliveries to ensure works progressed smoothly and safely.

Reopened on 4 June, Club York’s refreshed spaces offer a sophisticated setting for dining, relaxing and socialising. It’s a transformation that reflects Paynter Dixon’s commitment to craftsmanship, collaboration and innovation.
