New Gaming Regulations Training Made Easy with ClubSAFE
The new Gaming Machine Regulations have introduced new training obligations for staff, managers and directors of venues with gaming machines.
The ClubSAFE Team has been working in concert with our members to ensure they are trained and compliant with new requirements well in advance of compliance deadlines.
Since the inception of the Advanced Responsible Conduct of Gambling training course (ARCG), ClubSAFE has been delivering ARCG training across NSW.
ARCG training is a new requirement for staff members allocated Responsible Gambling Officer duties and is designed to prepare them to identify and respond to signs of at-risk gambling behaviours.
ClubSAFE has supported members by delivering ARCG training to nearly 3800 people, underpinning the club’s obligation to have adequate staff available to meet requirements for the number of RGOs on duty at any one time. This accounts for nearly 10 per cent of all staff employed by clubs across NSW.
Directors must now complete either Responsible Gambling Board Oversight (RGBO) training or both the RCG and ARCG. ClubSAFE commenced delivering RGBO training to support members’ compliance with the Clubs Gaming Code of Practice.
Pleasingly, as our training outcomes were adopted by the regulator, all directors having completed the training were able to obtain recognition of prior learning.
Over this time, ClubSAFE has trained over 2300 directors, or 30 per cent of all clubs’ directors across NSW. Training has been provided in-person, virtually and online, and in most cases free of charge to members to give clubs as much support as possible to meet this training requirement before the 30 June 2025 deadline.
Throughout this period, ClubSAFE has continued to deliver its liquor compliance, and anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing training packages. Throughout 2024, we delivered this training to an additional 3400 people.
