Kempsey Golf Club Providing Great Value on Nights Out
Nestled in the picturesque landscape of the Mid North Coast, Kempsey Golf Club is more than just a serene place to hit the greens and fairways; it’s becoming a vibrant hub of community activity, social engagement and delightful culinary experiences that don’t break the bank.
The Club offers one of the cheapest nights out in the area, which is warmly embraced by locals amid the cost-of-living crisis.
A selected beer of the month is just $6.50, while members and guests can join in on the nine-hole tournament on Fridays in summer for just $10 ($20 for non-members).
For those who don’t want to tackle the course, the driving range has buckets of balls starting from $6. For non-golfers, complimentary games of pool and darts are available.
One of the driving forces in the closeknit team at the Club is Madison Roberts, who says Friday evenings at the Club are getting busier with the added fun of the nine-hole competition.
“It's getting a bit more popular now because it runs all day, so even when people finish work, they come over and have a quick nine holes,” Madison says.
“They can potentially get some money from that. Then they stick around for the members’ draw and raffle.
“The younger crowd are loving the cheaper drinks, free pool and free darts. Even kids are getting into the darts now.”
With plenty of beautifully maintained grass areas, nights at the Club are family-friendly with kids having plenty of space to burn energy.
“They just run around each other and play tag and stuff,” Madison says. “Or they roll around on the practise green. They love it. The whole outdoor area is very well lit. It's a very open outdoor area with a very tall shed as well.”
Their next big project is staging a markets night at the Club every three months, with an upcoming event to be held on Valentine’s Day.
While golf can be an expensive past time, the par 72 course costs just $20 for nine holes or $30 for 18. For members it’s just $5. Cart hire is just $15/$30 for nine and 18-hole rounds respectively.
Located just off the Pacific Highway, Kempsey Golf Club is not only a great place for locals to convene, but also perfect for golf-loving tourists heading up and down the coast to pop in for a quick swing. Without it costing them a pretty penny.
