Club Proudly Builds the Central Coast’s First New Hotel in Decades
The Central Coast’s first new hotel in decades has opened its doors, at a time when the region is in the midst of a tourism boom.
Encore — built by Mingara at a cost of $24 million — is a four-star, 86-room hotel over four floors, and is the realisation of the Club’s long-term Master Plan.
“The project vision was to create a vibrant and welcome retreat for guests visiting our community and the broader Central Coast surrounds,” says Mingara Leisure Group CEO Paul Barnett.
“For many years the Central Coast has needed additional quality hotel accommodation, and we are excited to be the first new hotel built from the ground up on the Central Coast in decades.
“The opening of our new hotel makes a significant contribution to the Central Coast region and will support economic and tourism development here on the Coast.”
According to data from Tourism Research Australia, there was a 20 per cent increase in total domestic visitation to the Central Coast in the year ended March 2024, with visitor expenditure increasing more than 12 per cent to $1.5 billion.
Hotel guests can enjoy the close proximity to local beaches and experiences, as well as Mingara’s Club facilities including entertainment, a variety of restaurants, cafes and bars, and fitness and aquatic facilities.
The project was in the planning stage for four years, with construction commencing in August 2023 and a real focus on local tradespeople.
Almost 2000 cubic metres of concrete was used to construct the building, with 70 per cent of trade workers on site being locals from the Central Coast.
“Our entire team have worked extremely hard and as a collective, this is a significant achievement for the Club, our members and the local community,” says Paul.“We are extremely proud to be opening Encore by Mingara and making this contribution to the Central Coast.”
The hotel has begun taking bookings and is hoping for a bumper season as holidaymakers flock to the region over the hot summer months.
