NSW’s night-time economy showed its resilience in the June quarter, with mixed outcomes across key areas:

• Night-time Public Transport — there were 35.7 million Opal tap-offs at night, a 4.4 per cent increase from last year.
• Night-time Movement — people in NSW took 464 million night-time trips, keeping the share of night-time travel high at 28.6 per cent.
• Night-time Spending — spending during the night dropped slightly to $3.57 billion, making up 16.9 per cent of the total 24-hour spending.
• Business Growth — more businesses opened, with 1197 new core night-time businesses — a 2.3 per cent year-on-year increase.
