Technology Is Not Our Foe, Says Renowned Futurist
The ever-changing technology landscape was the key area of discussion at this afternoon’s ClubsNSW Annual Conference.
Renowned futurist Anders Sorman-Nilsson delivered the second keynote of the day, Winning Digital Minds & Analogue Hearts in the Age of AI.
Anders delved into the ever-increasing role that technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) play in our lives, and discussed how clubs can adopt technologies to assist in their day-to-day operations.
“New technologies are there so we can focus on the meaningful and humane,” he said.
“No one loves doing the mundane spreadsheets and admin. How can we take the robot out of the human so we can spend time doing what we like doing?”
Sorman-Nilsson had delegates enthralled as he spoke about the areas of customer and member services, and their relationship with technology.
Citing several case studies and drawing on personal experiences, he said modern AI need not frighten, but rather assist in running businesses.
“Technology is not our foe, and in fact it can be our friend,” he said.
“We as society need to adopt new technology in a responsible and ethical manner. Start thinking about what human impact or innovation we can do to make the club experience feel even more human, courtesy of letting humans do more human work.”
