We have compiled some frequently asked questions (FAQs) on the GPoM to assist clubs in meeting their obligations.
What is a GPoM?
The GPoM is a document which sets out the framework for patrons and club staff to understand a club’s responsible conduct of gambling obligations. It guides employees on how to meet these obligations and how to respond to particular gaming-related situations.
The GPoM includes relevant processes and procedures to be used at the club to meet responsible conduct of gambling obligations.
Do employees need to know what a GPoM is?
Yes. Employees must be familiar with the GPoM. Employees who work in the gaming room, gaming area or with gaming machines, must regularly read the GPoM.
As part of the GPoM, an attachment must be kept to record employees who have read and declared that they understand the GPoM.
Does a GPoM need to be accessible to employees at all times?
Yes, the GPoM must always be available and accessible to all employees. Clubs should ensure that their GPoM is in an easily accessible location, such as behind the gaming room desk.
Does the GPoM need to be venue specific?
Yes it does. A club group cannot have a GPoM covering multiple clubs.
Will Liquor & Gaming NSW (L&GNSW) be incorporating GPoM checks into their inspections?
Yes they will be. It is important that a club can when asked:

- produce their GPoM for inspection at any time;
- show that their GPoM is in an easily accessible location for employees to be able to access it at all times;
- show that employees have read and understood it; and
- explain what a GPoM is and what is contained in it.
