Sporties Offers Patrons Sleek New Design
Moorebank Sports Club has put the finishing touches on a $6 million renovation to revitalise its premises and create a more open and modern space for patrons.
Originally slated to commence prior to the start of the pandemic, the plans were put back on the table in 2023 and finally completed in April this year.
“The aim of this renovation was to make better use of the space in our venue and to upgrade our facilities to provide members and guests with a top-quality customer service experience every time they visit,” says Sporties Chairman Alby Taylor.
While the floorplan has remained the same, a slight change in configuration in the main bar and lounge areas has provided a better flow from the indoor to the outdoor spaces, with views of the surrounding sports fields now showcased through a much more open perspective.
The main bar area features additional seating for groups, along with three giant screens across the back wall, including a seven-square-metre LED screen which is expected to be well utilised by the Club’s fanatical sports membership base.
A new cocktail bar has also been built to enhance the patron experience, with the alfresco dining area given a facelift, with new banquet seating and upholstery, updated LED lighting and new tiles.
The main dining area has also been given a makeover with numerous cosmetic changes, a stunning ceiling feature and an enhanced wine bar, giving the space a luxe feel.
One of the more popular changes has been the rebranding of the Indulge Brasserie to ‘Lighthorse Kitchen’, paying homage to the mounted brigade attached to the Holsworthy Army Barracks, which used to be housed on the land where the Club now stands.
The main bathrooms have been completely refurbished with a sleek new design, with the metal finishes and lightning strike design also inspired by the military history.
“Our design choices pay homage to our military connections while keeping patron comfort at the forefront,” says Alby.
Other changes include the removal of an auditorium wall to open up an area at the rear of the room, and the redesign of the gaming room to provide additional space.
“The feedback from our members and guests has been really positive, especially with the cosmetic design choices we’ve made,” says Alby.
“It looks and feels like a Club that belongs in the Moorebank, Hammondville and Holsworthy communities.”
