A Reminder for Clubs: Advanced RCG Training Requirements
Clubs are reminded of the proposed training requirements in the draft Gaming Machines and Liquor Amendment (Harm Minimisation Measures) Regulation 2024 (the draft Regulation).
By 1 July 2024, any staff carrying out RGO duties and managers who will supervise RGOs must complete ARCG. Unless they supervise RGOs, approved managers, hotel licensees and club secretaries will have until 30 September 2024 to complete ARCG.
The draft Regulation also proposes training requirements for club directors, with different commencement dates. Further information on these proposed measures can be found here.
The short course is recommended for roles with greater gambling-related harm minimisation responsibilities, such as RGOs, floor managers and supervisors. Those who enrol will be provided with the knowledge, practical skills and confidence needed to assist them in recognising the signs of concerning gambling behaviour, and how to offer support to reduce gambling harm.
Clubs are reminded that Barringtons offers an Advanced Responsible Conduct of Gambling course. Clubs can complete this expression of interest form and find out more information about the Barringtons offering here.
TAFE NSW is now also offering an Advanced Responsible Conduct of Gambling course. Clubs can enrol for the course here. The cost of the training will be $330 per participant and invoicing can be arranged for groups.
