Wyong Leagues Lifts Local Footy to a New Level
In a major vote of confidence for local rugby league, Wyong Leagues Group has taken its commitment to supporting the sport to a higher level for three major figures in the local competition.
The Toukley Hawks, Berkeley Vale Panthers and Ourimbah Magpies have current long-standing relationships with the Group, however this new arrangement sees a substantial increase in funding which will benefit all levels of competition from juniors right through to first grade.
Wyong Leagues Group CEO Ben Coghlan shared his excitement to support rugby league on the Coast.
“We are genuinely excited to be able to enter into agreements with these important local clubs,” Ben said.
“We believe it is an opportunity to provide tangible benefits to the great game of rugby league here on the coast. It is a game that we understand, it is a part of our DNA if you like.”
Ben added that the team, led by Sponsorship Manager Brock Molan, put forward such a strong case for proactively seeking out the opportunity with the board finding it easy to endorse the Club’s increased involvement in the teams.
Toukley Hawks President Phil Gearside said the increased involvement was very welcome.
“On behalf of Toukley Hawks RLFC we are delighted that the Wyong Leagues Group has chosen to continue with our long-standing partnership whilst increasing their commitment,” Phil said.
“We look forward to working with their Canton Beach Sports Club through this coming season and beyond.”
Ourimbah Magpies President Warrick Faint echoed the sentiment.
“As a foundation club, Ourimbah RLFC would like to thank the Wyong Leagues Group for their commitment to rugby league on the coast. This partnership allows clubs like ours to foster and promote rugby league in the Ourimbah community,” Warrick said.
“They should be recognised and celebrated by the whole of the Central Coast.”
Berkeley Vale Panthers Club President Matt Roberts said they were not only grateful for Wyong Leagues Group’s commitment to the community club but were greatly impressed with their passion and big picture thinking for rugby league.
“We are look forward to again spending a lot of time at their Bateau Bay Bowling Club this year.”
