Wings, American Beers and Dawgs — Super Bowl LVIII at Your Local Club
According to a recent survey by insights firm Kantar, live sport is the most popular viewing category on Australian streaming services.
Kantar revealed in 2023 that 25 per cent of Australians put sports streaming as their preferred viewing category, ahead of other genres including comedy, drama, reality programs, thrillers and animation. This is ahead of other countries including the US (22 per cent), France (21 per cent), the UK (19 per cent) and Germany (18 per cent) and Spain (15 per cent) where sport is a consumer’s number one genre choice.
This goes some way to explaining why the interest in the Super Bowl has boomed in Australia over the past few years.
While American football is not widely played in Australia, it is supported en masse (even before Taylor Swift began appearing at games), with many getting involved in the hype, glitz and glamour of the Las Vegas showdown.
So, this year clubs across NSW are getting ready to host viewing parties and Super Bowl LVIII -themed events with that all-American feel, complete with classic American-style food and drink specials from 9am on Monday, 12 February.
Bankstown Sports
Bankstown Sports’ Basement Brewhouse has a $59 per person set menu with unlimited nibbles and buckets of four Budweiser beers for just $24 (or $26 for non-members).
