Wests Group Macarthur Launches Winter Food Appeal
Macarthur families are feeling the pinch from rising living costs, including higher interest rates, increased weekly rental payments and growing grocery bills. As a result, Big Yellow Umbrella has seen a broader range of people seeking support in recent months.
So, Wests Group Macarthur has partnered up with Big Yellow Umbrella for the Hamper House Food Security Program to lend a helping hand this winter.
“The cost of living has meant local families cannot afford fresh fruit and vegetables and we are inundated with requests for support,” said Kim Landouw from Big Yellow Umbrella.
Wests and Big Yellow Umbrella are actively seeking donations of non-perishable pantry items (six-month shelf life) to be used in take-home hampers supporting the Big Yellow Umbrella Hamper House Food Security Program.
Food donation boxes are currently available in the reception areas of Wests League Club, Country Club Gledswood Hills, Lakeside Golf Club and the Big Yellow Umbrella head office in Narellan. Members of Wests Group Macarthur and the community can contribute non-perishable pantry items until Monday, 30 June.
Daniel Perkiss, CEO of Wests Group Macarthur, said he is proud to support the cause.
“At Wests, we strongly believe in empowering our community partners to deliver what is needed around the region, when people need it. Big Yellow Umbrella does an exceptional job of supporting both individuals and families within the local community. We are pleased to partner to support the Hamper House appeal,” he said.
