The registered club industry is joining many others in mourning the passing of Father Chris Riley, a beloved figure whose lifelong mission to uplift disadvantaged youth touched the hearts of countless Australians.
Father Riley, founder of Youth Off The Streets, was a passionate and persistent advocate for young people experiencing homelessness, trauma or disadvantage. His work spanned decades and helped transform thousands of lives through education and support.
For many years, registered clubs have proudly supported Father Chris Riley and Youth Off The Streets, sharing a common goal of strengthening communities and helping people in times of need.
“The Youth Off The Streets family mourns the loss of our founder, Father Chris Riley,” said Chairperson of Youth Off The Streets, Anne Fitzgerald, in a statement.
"He was a tireless advocate for homeless and disadvantaged youth, and he inspired and changed thousands of young lives. Father Riley will be remembered for his compassion, tenacity and unwavering belief that every young person deserves the chance to reach their full potential.”
CEO of Youth Off The Streets, Judy Barraclough, echoed Anne’s sentiments.

Father Riley’s work earned him national admiration and forged long-standing partnerships with clubs across NSW — many of which have supported Youth Off The Streets through ClubGRANTS, fundraising events and donations over the years.
