Moorebank Sports Club proudly opened its doors to the next generation, hosting the inaugural Future Focus Careers Fair in the Club Auditorium — an inspiring initiative to guide, connect, and empower young people as they take their first steps on their career journeys.
Students from Holsworthy High School and Moorebank High School attended during the school day, with an afternoon session welcoming parents, families, and the wider community.
The fair brought together a diverse mix of employers, training providers, government agencies, and industry professionals, giving attendees a unique chance to engage directly with people working in fields they aspire to join. From trades and apprenticeships to higher education and community services, Future Focus showcased a pathway for every ambition.
The Club was buzzing with conversation as stallholders generously shared their knowledge and career insights.
Moorebank Sports Club also extended thanks to State Member for Holsworthy Tina Ayyad, who toured the stalls, spoke with students, and reinforced her support for this important community initiative.
Adding a hands-on element, Hennessy Coffee partnered with Holsworthy High School’s hospitality students, offering barista training tips and keeping everyone fuelled throughout the day.
The event received overwhelmingly positive feedback:
- “This was such a cool event, we loved it!” – Local students
- “Great stalls and vibe, and even better that it was so close to school.” – Local student
- “Wow, this event is such a great platform for us, more Clubs need to do this.” – Stallholder
- “We have taken almost 25 names of students who are interested in work experience and a possible career.” – Stallholder
The success of Future Focus highlights what can be achieved when schools, employers, families, and community partners come together. Moorebank Sports Club is already planning to build on this momentum and deliver even greater opportunities for young people in years to come.
