Goulburn Soldiers Club Unveils Commemorative 100+One Years Book

Goulburn Soldiers Club has come a long way from a room at the top of the stairs to the modern facilities of today. 

What began as a modest gathering place for returning service men and women has blossomed into a vibrant community hub. The evolution from its humble origins to the current state-of-the-art amenities stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment of the Club to adapt and cater to the changing needs of its members and the broader community. 

As we reflect on the remarkable journey, we celebrate not only the physical transformation, but more significantly, the profound impact the Club has had on the lives of countless individuals, solidifying its place as a cherished cornerstone of the Goulburn community.

The 100 Years book was originally planned for release in 2021, but COVID had different ideas, and the book was only recently completed. This culminated in the name being changed to 100+One Years. 

Book one — History of the Goulburn & District Soldiers Club 1921-1988 was published in 1988. In this latest edition, we did not re-write the history of those years, but rather time-lined those 67 years in the Goulburn Soldiers Club’s 100+One Years book.

The book is an interesting voyage through changes in technology, where newspaper articles morph into a photographic journey showcasing the Club’s evolution and the people who have been part of the legacy.

The book is a testament to the enduring spirit of the Goulburn community and the unwavering commitment of the Club’s members. It will serve as a reminder of our shared history, a source of inspiration for our future, preserving our past as we look forward to a bright future.
