Crescent Head Country Club Hits a Hole in One
Crescent Head Country Club has gone further and beyond when it comes to inclusivity, installing what is believed to be the best mini-golf facility in Australia for disability access.
David Joffe, Managing Director of Natureworks who headed up the project, said the Crescent Head mini-golf facility had been designed to cater for outstanding disability access, superior to any other course in Australia.
“This was the specific request of Crescent Head Country Club when they engaged Natureworks as the designers and builders who have over 25 years’ experience of constructing mini-golf facilities throughout Australia,” David said.
“Natureworks believe that they have accomplished this and, in their experience, have not seen anything that comes close.”
Colan Ryan, Secretary Manager of Crescent Head Country Club, said the Club’s board and management undertook the project with an emphasis on sustainability, diversification and inclusiveness.
“We believe this to be the best mini-golf facility in Australia for disability access.”
“The 520,000 litres of underground water tanks are a base for the future irrigation of our PGA Rated six-hole golf course. This will further improve Australia’s only six-hole accredited course,” Colan said.
“The mini-golf facility sits above the water tanks and complements our other family friendly facilities. We believe this to be the best mini-golf facility in Australia for disability access.”
Pam Bryant, Chairperson of Crescent Head Country Club, reiterated Colan’s sentiments.
“The mini-golf and water re-use project came about following support from members and the wider community,” Pam said.
“We think it looks fabulous and we are already receiving enquiries from local families, schools, holiday makers and for special events.
“All Club facilities are moving towards inclusiveness, sustainability and being family friendly.
“We thank Michael Kemp and Pat Conaghan for helping our not-for-profit Club deliver facilities for the local and wider community.”
