Club Rivers Brings Joy to Hundreds of School Kids
In collaboration with Georges River Life Care, Club Rivers has provided 487 packed school bags to local school students.
For the past six years, Club Rivers has provided crucial funding for backpacks filled with essential school supplies. Together, the two organisations engage local schools to contribute items such as pens, pencils, rulers, erasers, sharpeners, pencil cases, lunchboxes and more.
These essential school supplies are then delivered to local schools at the end of December, ensuring that students are well-equipped for the first day of the new academic year. The recent successful completion of this year's distribution took place last week.
The primary objective of this initiative is to support families and children in the local community by providing fundamental school supplies necessary for a successful start to the school year. To tailor their support, Club Rivers and Georges River Life Care collaborate closely with schools to determine their specific needs.
Recipient schools benefiting from this initiative include Riverwood Public School, Hannons Road Public School, and Georges River Campus.
Club Rivers remains committed to its mission of community engagement and continues to explore avenues for enhancing the wellbeing of residents in the region. In the past, The Club has donated 1300 backpacks to local schools, and with the additional 487 bags delivered just this year, that total is just over 1800 backpacks over the last six years.
“I wish we could capture the excitement of the students when they receive a backpack and look at what’s in inside,” commented one teacher on social media.
“It is probably the closest many of them get to experience what other children do on birthdays or Christmas.”
